Finding joy in all things human

The search for all things human, I realize, is what gives my walks joy. Stumbling upon a man in a dress playing banjo at a cafe that seems to have had its origins as a newsstand, spotting uninhibited adoration and even familiarity in his audience, his photographer's camera set to a vintage toned video setting that I'm peeking into, realizing these are moments I romanticize in others' lives, and now it's mine. The tunes of banjo, the crowd of Bulldog news, stories that found me through a random magazine - all mine.

The beauty of seeing the world through another person's eye, their camera lens or their stories is much more intimate, sometimes even more than seeing the world for yourself. Especially if what you see is a world you were not always part of.

Seeing the earth through Sancharam fascinated me. Today when I walk those streets, I don't admire what I see enough; I adore the lives lived there, and the world they saw - their perspectives. A camcorder border, always on.
